Manchester United qualify for Champions League after beating Ajax to win Europa League title

Manchester United finished their season on a high after winning the Europa League title with a 2-0 win over Ajax Amsterdam in Stockholm, Sweden.

Goals early in each half from midfielders, Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan won the trophy for the Red Devils.

The title comes two days after a terrorist attack claimed the lives of at least 22 people in Manchester.

As a result of tonight’s win, Man. United will participate in next season’s UEFA Champions League as a result.

While the English club finished a disappointing sixth in the just concluded Premier League season, winning the Europa League has earned them a place in Europe’s elite club competition.

Jose Mourinho‘s side join Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and city rivals, Man. City as clubs with a place in next season’s UCL group stage.

Liverpool who finished fourth would play in the Champions League third qualifying round for a place in the group stage.
