The Executive Vice President of Viacom Africa in an experiential Panel Session at the 2107 edition of the Nigerian Entertainment Conference, spoke on the creation and monetization of content for a global audience.
According to him, content creators have to go on a deep research exercise in order to decipher what their various audiences want.
‘In 2005 when we launched MTV base, there was a channel from South Africa which was the only channel that South Africans were watching for Music. I saw that there was a huge gap to create a Pan African Brand’, he said.
But we had to make sure it was the right channel for Music with the right content because I am of the belief that we have young, trendy and smart Africans and we had to do our research on it’, he added,
